Incredibles 2 – Rate 8.5/10
After waiting 14 years–and I know this is an over used pun but–I can say this film was truly incredible!
Incredibles 2 picks up where it left off in 2004 and brings you back into the life of the Parr family and the on-edge world with a love-hate relationship with superheroes.
It was so great to see the characters again and to go deeper with their back stories. It’s always my favorite thing when I have a real, heart warming story and get to know the characters better. Each member of the family has a unique quality that makes having everyone together an unbeatable force. I also loved seeing the relationships in the family and how they reflect real life. Seeing Bob as a stay at home parent reflects a shift in what society has long thought of as normal, but stay at home dads are becoming more common. The Incredibles movies gives realistic points of view and is relatable in our world today.
I love how technology makes these superheroes so life like! The quality of graphics for this film increased so much, but it really just shows how much time has gone by since the first. The mid modern architecture and era in which the story is told is also one of my favorite things to see. Then, tying the movie off with The Incredibles theme song and soundtrack really made the film fantastic.
However, because this is a superhero movie, I must mention the bad guy who has to create that conflict so that the climax of saving the day can occur. My only issue with the film was the predictability of who that bad person was and some little lagging parts throughout. Also, I wish to see Edna Mode more because she is a queen.
Overall, Disney finally gave us a sequel that is worth watching. After we have all been patiently waited for so long, it seems it was worth it. The Incredibles 2 is top notch!
Keep it real,
