Ocean’s 8 – Rate 4.5/10
Sandra Bullock, starring as Ms. Ocean, gathers a team of strong, independent women in order to pull off the biggest heist ever known.
Ocean’s 8 didn’t spark my attention from the get go which usually isn’t a good sign, and my overall thought afterwards was “that was cute.”
Even though the cast looked like they could have been the perfect team, there just wasn’t any chemistry. Their individual characters’ stories is what helped carry them all. When put in a room together or paired off, they never clicked for me.
The film was predictable, but it was admittedly still entertaining to see how they would pull it off. It wasn’t spectacular or action-packed but rather sleek and an eyebrow raiser eliciting “ohh okay” kinds of reactions.
Overall, I thought the film could have used some more surprises and unpredictable turns. Instead, there were some awkward transitions between scenes, an unappealing soundtrack, and tedious drawn out scenes that just made the film a bit dull. However, I give Ocean’s 8 a 4.5/10 for at least giving a decent, entertaining story with strong women as the leads.
Keep it real,
